I thought the RTX 5090 couldn’t get any more expensive, but right now, the cut-down version of the graphics card is selling for more than the top graphics card anyway.
Listings for the RTX 5090D on eBay look to be flooded by the GALAXY GeForce RTX 5090 D HOF OC LAB, the one that smashed 3DMarks records over the 5090. With it comes some great costs, starting off at $5,498, and they are in fact selling these.

Checking the sold listings, you can see the RTX 5090D going for that price, as one of the Galaxy HOF OC is going for that price. While there are others going for under $5,000, the INNO3D X3 Night goes for that much, and the Gigabyte AORUS XTREME goes for $4,195.
In comparison, Newegg has the cheapest 5090 listed for $2,474.59 at the time of writing. While a ZOTAC Solid OC on Amazon is available for $2,780, so that’s still over $1,000 cheaper than the D for some reason.
Why is the 5090D more expensive?
It could be the fact that the RTX 5090D is, in fact, China exclusive. The second version of the 5090 is a cut-back version of the flagship to avoid the export restrictions the US has placed on hardware going to the country. So, Nvidia has scaled back what the 5090 has to still be able to sell it to China.
However, since its release, the restrictions have changed even more. So now the RTX 5090D v2 is on the way, as the v1 can no longer be sent to the country. It might be why the 5090D has been popping up on eBay as people in China or elsewhere look to sell it where it can go.
It might also be seen as a collector’s item due to its more restricted nature, as some look to get their hands on it. As for the Galax XOC, that’s a lot more powerful than usual. The overclocked GPU comes with two 12-pin power connector ports, so it takes some serious power to run it, as it could be the most powerful option out there that can tempt enthusiasts to pick it up.
